Norma and Col Cairns operate ‘Nortenhof’, a prestigious Boer Goat Stud property and accredited quarantine facility at picturesque Paterson in the heart of the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia.

The Stud has successfully established itself as a top producer of high quality Boers with superior meat, growth traits and fertility. Our Stud produces registered full blood bucks and does (the male and the female species of the Boer goat) with a credible breeding program using the best South African genetics available. New blood lines are regularly introduced using embryos imported from South Africa (from embryo transfer programs) and specially selected bucks and does so we can manage our expanding breeding program.

Our emphasis is on growing strong and robust Boers that are built for meat and muscle and not just for show. The strong genetics of the heavy framed bucks of “Nortenhof Stud’ are also used to produce the commercial pure breds that are proving to be the fastest growing sector of the industry for both the domestic and export markets.

Both Col and Norma are experienced in the live export of their goats and regularly send their consignments to overseas markets. We have satisfied clients in many countries with lots of successful Boer goat stories to tell. Our stock is regularly used as the seed stock for successful breeding programs to develop the local goat meat industry as well as valuable breeding programs for the on-going supply of the top genetics.

Our proven livestock export experience ensures all potential overseas buyers can be given the correct advice for both selection and importation of the animals. We can also handle all the mandatory requirements of the actual export process from farm gate to delivery to you. All pre-export quarantine requirements and testing are undertaken on our own property which is also an Australian Quarantine accredited Facility. Air or sea delivery – we’ll provide you with the best options.

We are experts in herd management and nutrition and all the requirements for managing a successful breeding program for a Stud or a commercial herd. As active executive members of the Boer Goat Breeders Association of Australia, we are able to supply exactly what you want, when you want.
